19 Mar Fall 2022 Opening for Intern Position
Looking for a unique internship in dressage? Everyday can be a masterclass – it is up to you. We are passionate about sharing dressage with riders who have an interest in theory as well as riding. As Alois Podhajsky said, “there must be a balance between theory and riding. Without this balance, riders go from one system to another with no understanding of biomechanics or history. They just ride each day, making mistakes that have already been proven to be ineffective.”
Come to work, ride, and study classical riding: the system of elegant solutions for ancient problems. We guarantee improvement in your position and your horse’s training. You will be required to watch one film per week, including some rare footage of classical masters; will have free access to our library, and ample time for questions and discussion during the day. You will have the opportunity to observe all levels of training and meet the riders and trainers who come to work with Paul and Rose.
The compensation for your detail-oriented, cheerful work, is a generous package: your own spacious apartment with washer dryer, AC and WIFI, all utilities included. You will ride with daily supervision, have a weekly private lesson with Paul and receive a monthly stipend. Work entails typical barn chores and horse care from 7-6 each day with a half hour lunch break. 1.5 days off per week, some flexibility required during show season.
Flexible start date. Must have own horse.
For the right candidate, possible opportunity for growth into barn manager position.
We are looking for that serious equestrian student who takes initiative, loves to take care of horses, and has respect for the 2,000 year old craft of classical dressage. Please email paridingacademy@aol.com with questions.
